Finding Opportunities In Change

The common issue in psychotherapy is change.  People seek psychological services to cope with life changes (such as deaths, divorces, job transitions, health issues, etc.), and/or to promote changes (for instance, letting go of unproductive patterns like addictions, changing unhealthy relationships or ways of relating with others, overcoming barriers to connecting with others, or learning to better manage emotions).  Across all of these situations is the desire to use change constructively.

That is Doctor Shapiro's deepest value:  Finding the Opportunities in Change.  He wants to help each client take control of their lives, relationships, health, emotions, behavior, wellness, and professional/academic functioning.   Every session and intervention he uses is to help clients connect with senses of mastery, control, purpose, and the sense of satisfaction that comes when one lives life to the fullest.
